Mastering the new album

After a few hesitations/dilemmas regarding mixing, tracklisting, and overall concept, I finally went to see Scott Hull - mastering engineer at Masterdisk!

I spent a few hours in the room with Scott, watching (listening to) him work. He ended up listening to the entire thing (65'), at high volume, through his fascinating speakers. It was like rediscovering the mixes at The Bunker, with an improved sound, a new "life ingredient" thrown in the pot.

Emotionally overwhelming! I wish everybody could listen to music on such a high-quality sound system. To think about mp3s is a little frustrating, alright. But anyway a well mixed and mastered album should sound good on any system (note to self: define "good").
